GROW: Planting some veggies…

Last weekend on Sunday after our two NCT classes, Richard got back into his gardening gear – which has had a slight upgrade since last time – nylon football shorts replaced for brown combat shorts, big improvement (though still some way to go I think!) – and set about putting in all the seeds my father had kindly dropped off when he popped over to dig some more of the veggie patch for us.

He deployed the very advanced ‘Crouch and Reach’ technique for planting…

And he planted everything from Gladiator Parsnips and Boltardy Beetroot to Little Gem lettuce and courgettes…

In very, very neat little rows….

He even found time to dig over another section, where we are going to plant runner beans and sweet peas (slight negotiations are ongoing as the percentage of sweet peas versus runner beans…!)
